The following are the general guidelines of The Los Angeles Fetish Film Festival (“LAFET”).
The final submission deadline: September 25, 2012
Submissions received after that date will not be eligible for prizes or awards.
Your film must have themes/visuals/story regarding fetish; whether fashion, D/S lifestyle, singular fetish (for example: shoe, food, nylon)
The LAFET definition of fetish is: an object that is given life through it’s viewer; can be sexual. It’s “observer created”.
THE LAFET is looking for films of highest artistic integrity.
The content shall be non-hardcore sexual. Nudity is fine, but acts of penetration will not be accepted. Acceptable content will be considered at the sole discretion of festival director.
All film entries must be submitted on MiniDV, DVD or QuickTime HD files (on a flashcard) (Please make sure DVD plays on all DVD players) to be considered for selection. PAL submissions will not be accepted.
Suggested length of Short Entries is between 3-12 minutes. Longer shorts will only be considered under at sole discretion of festival director.
The project must be the creative work of the contestant.
Winners will be announced on Octoberl 6, 2012 in Los Angeles, California.
Entrant’s must be at least 18 years of age at the time of shooting; a signed release with photo I.D. must accompany submission of any and all persons appearing in the film/video. Entries CANNOT feature, show, or in any way have any model, actor, actress or other participant (each a “Film Participant”) who is under the age of 18 associated – NO EXCEPTIONS!
Filmmakers must use original or copyright free music for their soundtracks. It is best to use music that is original or in the public domain.
All prizes must be claimed within two months of receiving the notification via email, after which you will be deemed to have forfeited your prize.
When entering the LAFET entrants are deemed to have accepted these rules and agree to be bound by them. Entrants must comply with all rules to be eligible for the prizes.
Winners will be selected by a panel of judges determined by the Los Angeles Fetish Film Festival.
While all due care and attention will be exercised, the LAFET cannot accept or assume responsibility for damage or loss of materials submitted, either while in possession by LAFET and/or its staff, or while on route through the mail or internet.
The Los Angeles Fetish Film Festival reserves the right to disqualify any submissions for profanity, gratuitous violence, or discrimination to race and/or gender at the sole discretion of the LAFET reviewers.
By submitting your film to the festival, you are granting LAFET non-exclusive rights to retain an archive copy of your production for the purposes of exhibition, promotion, and commercial exploitation through the internet and other means of display.
By submitting your film(s) or video(s) to LAFET, you understand that they/it may be shown in a public venue and/or distributed by Unearthed Films, and available for download.
Videos must meet a certain quality standard. LAFET reserves the right to decide which videos are featured and entered into The Los Angeles Fetish Film Festival.
Any films in a language other than English must be subtitled in English.
Excerpts from films will be shown for promotional purposes. LAFET retains the right to distribute a compilation of it’s entrants shorts unedited.
All entries must include background information on the production and the producer/director or talent for use in press information and/or press releases and publicity. All photos and press materials will not be returned.
There is a $30 dollar entry fee per short submission. All shipping fees must be paid by the sender. Extended deadlines submissions will be $60 dollars for short submissions.
